Underground Engineering

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Underground engineering refers to underground civil engineering built below the ground for the development and utilization of underground space resources. It includes underground houses and underground structures, underground railways, road tunnels, underwater tunnels, underground common ditch and underground passages.
1. Underground railway
Due to the continuous expansion and development of the city, the ground transportation in the city can no longer meet the traffic requirements, and the construction of the underground railway has become one of the most effective means. Beijing, China has built 40.1 kilometers of subways, and Tianjin has built 7.2 kilometers of subways. Other big cities are under planning.
2.Tunnel and underground works
The underground railway must cooperate with other types of transportation on the ground and the corresponding facilities to play a better role. In the past 20 to 30 years, large cities (such as Tokyo, Osaka, etc.) in some countries have cooperated with the subway to build a large-scale underground street and underground shopping malls.
3.Railway and road tunnel
Railways and highways often need to cross rivers and ports. To this end, an underwater railway or road tunnel is required. China has built the Huangpu River Dapu Road Tunnel with a shield construction method in Shanghai, and is constructing a second cross-river tunnel. It is also preparing to build a third cross-river tunnel with the immersed tube method. A feasibility study is now being carried out through the tunnel scheme of the Strait of Gibraltar. The submarine tunnel from Kowloon to Hong Kong has been completed.
4.Other underground works
Hydropower stations are repairing water diversion and drainage tunnels, and some also have underground powerhouses and other caverns. Nuclear power plants are all built underground, and there are underground deep caverns for burying nuclear waste. Many military engineering and civil air defense works have been repaired underground. Some underground works can use natural caves and are used after reinforcement repairs.
Career prospects
Nowadays, traffic congestion has become a deadly bottleneck in the city. People are waiting, anger, despair in congestion, and they are beginning to look for directions because they are eager for speed. When a stunner named Metro could make traffic troubles and speed temptations satisfied, almost all Chinese cities fell in love with her and began a vigorous subway construction trip. The alternative space of the subway stimulates people's cosmopolitan imagination and commercial imagination. Metro astronomical investment makes the city people feel painful and happy. The subway carries the softness and lyrics of all urban people.
As China enters the third wave of subway construction, the first thing to pull is the social demand for technical talents. The underground engineering professional employment department is extensive, and can engage in technology or in the design, research, construction, education, management, investment, development and other departments of urban underground railways, underground tunnels and pipelines, basic engineering, underground commercial and industrial space, underground storage and other projects. Management work. Continue to further study can be applied to graduate students in structural engineering, municipal engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering.
