Plant nutrition is one of the two disciplines under the agricultural resources and environment. It is a discipline that studies the laws of plant absorption, transport, transformation and utilization of nutrients and the exchange of nutrients and energy between plants and the external environment. Its purpose is to increase crop yields and improve product quality.
Its main task is to clarify the specific processes of nutrient exchange and energy exchange between plants and the external environment, as well as the laws of transport, distribution and energy conversion of nutrients, and on this basis, provide plants with means of applying reasonable fertilizers and adequate nutrients to create a good nutrient environment, or improve the plant's metabolism by improving plant genetic characteristics, improve plant nutrition efficiency, thereby achieving the goal of improving crop yield and improving product quality.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLANT NUTRITION
In the past five years, the Department of Plant Nutrition has hosted the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 11th Five-Year Science and Technology Support Program, the Ministry of Agriculture's Public Welfare Industry Program, and the National High Technology Research and Development Program project topics, the Ministry of Agriculture 948 project and other international cooperation projects (Chinese, English, Sino-German) more than 200 items. The contractual funds amounted to more than 18 million yuan, and the annual average funding for senior professional and technical personnel was about 200,000 yuan. The senior professional and technical personnel were awarded the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. They publish 500 papers, including more than 30 articles in SCI and 2 monographs.
The Department of Plant Nutrition has established close cooperative relations with relevant universities or research institutions in the United States, Britain, Germany, Israel, Japan and other countries, and has visited more than 20 researchers. It has also carried out extensive academic exchanges with many famous plant nutrition universities or research institutions in China.
The plant nutrition discipline will focus on the migration and transformation process of nutrients in the dryland soil-plant-environment and its eco-environmental effects. The subject point has become the research center of dryland plant nutrition and the base of high-level talent cultivation in China. The discipline level is at the forefront of similar disciplines in China, and has important influences and obvious characteristics in the world.
