Shanghai DianJi University
Shanghai Dianji University is a general higher education institution oriented to advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, focusing on engineering and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, art, science and other disciplines.
The school was established in 1953 by the former Electrical Appliance Industry Administration of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry, and was formed by some teachers and students of Shanghai Middle School, Shanghai Industrial School, and National Shanghai Advanced Mechanical Vocational School. The school was originally named Shanghai Electrical Manufacturing School, and it has successively undergone the development and evolution of Shanghai Electrical Manufacturing School, Shanghai Electrical Manufacturing Technology College, and Shanghai Electrical Engineering Technical College. In 1985, the school held the first batch of five-year technical college education in the country on a trial basis. In 2002, it was listed as a national key construction higher vocational college. In 2004, Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Industry School and Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Industry Workers College were merged into the school; in September of the same year, with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the school was renamed Shanghai Dianji University and upgraded to a full-time general undergraduate university. In 2011, the school was listed by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a pilot unit for professional degree graduate students in the "Service the National Special Needs Talent Training Project", and began postgraduate education. In 2020, the school was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a master's degree granting unit.
The school clearly puts forward a school-running strategy of "technical establishment, application-oriented", based in Shanghai, radiating the "Yangtze River Delta", serving regional social and economic development, and through in-depth and institutionalized cooperation of industry, academia and research, striving to create a Serving the development needs of Shanghai's advanced manufacturing industry and related service industries, characteristic colleges and universities with technical application-oriented undergraduate connotation and characteristics of industry universities are committed to building the school into a talent training base for Shanghai's advanced manufacturing and modern service industries , School-enterprise cooperation and innovation base for industry-university-research integration, education and training base for in-service employees of equipment manufacturing enterprises, and R&D base that reflects international technical exchanges and cooperation in the field of equipment manufacturing.
The school has two major campuses, Lingang and Minhang, with a campus area of 1147 acres. There are currently nearly 12,800 full-time graduate, undergraduate and junior college students. The total value of teaching and research equipment is 330 million yuan; the library has 1.372 million paper books and 1.661 million e-books. The school implements a school-school (department) secondary management system, with 14 secondary teaching units under it, and jointly established Shanghai Electric Libin Technician College with Shanghai Electric (Group) Corporation.
The school is committed to cultivating the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical education, art and labor, excellent professional knowledge, strong application ability, high comprehensive quality, able to solve the practical engineering and technical problems of the enterprise, and excellent high-tech application talents with innovative spirit. There are 39 undergraduate majors, 7 junior college majors, 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction point, 2 national university characteristic major construction points, 3 majors "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai first-class undergraduate major construction 10 points, 11 Shanghai applied undergraduate pilot majors, 1 Shanghai demonstrative all-English major, and 3 majors have passed the certification of engineering education. There are 2 national engineering practice education centers, which are the first batch of CDIO pilot institutions in the country and the first batch of demonstration universities in Shanghai to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. The school focuses on teaching core links, innovates education and teaching concepts, and deepens education and teaching reforms. In recent years, it has successively won the first prize of national teaching achievement, the special prize of Shanghai teaching achievement and other awards. It was selected into the first batch of Shanghai first-class undergraduate construction leading programs and won Approved 2 national new engineering research and practice projects and 1 national new agricultural research and practice project.
The school builds a technical application-oriented faculty by introducing and training simultaneously. It has a group of high-level talents including tens of millions of national-level engineering talents, experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and Shanghai leading talents. There are more than 1,000 faculty members, including 837 full-time teachers; 322 senior professional and technical teachers and 355 doctoral teachers (accounting for 42.4% of the total number of full-time teachers).
The school's discipline construction closely focuses on the development of intelligent manufacturing and equipment manufacturing industries, and basically forms a "social, service industry, and key focus" with engineering as the main body, management and economics as the two wings, and science, literature, and art as the support. , Distinguishing features" technology application discipline system, focusing on the construction of "Electrical Engineering", "Mechanical Engineering", "Materials Science and Engineering", "Management Science and Engineering", "Computer Science and Technology", "Applied Economics" and other disciplines. The school has 11 key disciplines at all levels and various types. "Materials Science and Engineering" is Shanghai's Category IV peak discipline, "Mechanical Engineering" is Shanghai's Category II plateau discipline, and "Electrical Engineering" is Shanghai's first-class discipline monitoring and construction discipline. , "Power Electronics and Electric Drive" and "Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation" are the key disciplines of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
